Illuminated in the Current Self (from the Theological Virtues Trilogy)

In our struggle to find our place in the world there are times of great darkness. We regret past decisions, we hate who we are and fear our future. Yet within us, like a coiled snake, rests the potential of our soul. The experiences of our past provide a light by which to explore how it is we've gotten this far. Only through accepting and forgiving who we were, are we able to illuminate the darkness and stand gratefully in the fullness of our current self. Then, warmed by that gratitude, our soul will awaken and carry us forward into our personal greatness.
