Prompted by one of the approximately sixty-eight times President Trump announced the end of the Affordable Care Act, this painting depicts the plight of those who need care. They are forced to beg bookkeepers, at the gate of the fortress of healthcare, while secure government officials turn their backs. Inside the fortress, the mechanism of insurance companies is fed by its self-serving cronies. All this is being watched by truth seeking children who learn our country's ethics and values by example. When this is over, will we have taught them compassion or greed?
